Description

Late 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay gabled hall. Squared and stugged painted rubble; ashlar dressings. Simply moulded surrounds to basket-arched ground floor openings; chamfered reveals to segmental-arched windows at first floor. Base course. Ashlar fascia band with moulded string course above.

N (EDINBURGH ROAD) ELEVATION: 2-leaf panelled door with over-hanging plate glass fanlight at centre, closely flanked by 2 19th century shop windows. Regular fenestration at 1st floor. Blank panel with moulded surround in gablehead.

E ELEVATION: blank above adjoining single storey block.

W ELEVATION: adjoined to No 5 Edinburgh Road (see separate listing).

S ELEVATION: adjoined to neighbouring buildings.

Plate glass glazing pattern in sash and case windows at 1st floor.

Coped skews, scrolled at apex of N gable. Coped narrow gablehead stack to N. Roof light to E pitch. Grey slates.

Statement of Interest

This building previously accommodated retail premises (1984), and is now used by the Full Gospel Church.
