Dated 1877. 2-storey, 2-bay villa. Bull-faced squared and coursed manonry; ashlar dressings. Deep overhanging eaves. Base course. Band course between floors, returned on E elevation. Stop-chamfered raised margins.
S (NEWBATTLE ROAD) ELEVATION: bargeboarded gabled bay advanced to left; full-height canted window with cornice and blocking course, garden door in right light; small window in gablehead. Tripartite window at ground in bay to right; bipartite window at 1st floor.
E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay. Kingpost-detailed gabled porch adjoined at centre, running N-S; shouldered doorway to S, panelled door and plate glass fanlight; window raised through eaves to E. Regularly disposed fenestration at 1st floor and at ground in outer bays. Moulded panel, with shield inscribed "1877", between bays to left and centre at 1st floor.
W ELEVATION: window at ground to left and to left of centre. Window at 1st floor to left of centre and to right.
N ELEVATION: semicircular-arched stair window at centre. Single storey wing adjoined at ground.
Plate glass glazing pattern in sash and case windows; coloured margin to porch and stair window. Grey slates to piend and platform roof. Shouldered wallhead stacks, to left of centre to E, and to left and right of centre to W. Canted dormer window above right bay to S, and to right to E. Original cans. Original rainwater goods.
Pyramidal-capped banded square gatepiers with ball finials; rubble boundary wall.
