Description

James Murray Robertson, for himself, 1880. 2-storey
coursed rubble villa with Robertson's Jacobean
trademarks.
S elevation 2-bay. 4-light canted bay to right with
curved sides rises through both floors, slate hung
over 1st, into turret with facetted ogee roof and
crescent finial. Triple lights to left. Gabled Venetian
dormer with wrought-iron finial.
Timber porch with slate roof in re-entrant angle of
W elevation, twin trefoil-headed windows to left.
Stepped 1st floor windows. Plain single lights to E
elevation. Projecting eaves with encircling coved
cornice. Piended and platformed slate roof. Decorative
red brick stacks.
Low boundary wall.

Statement of Interest

The ogee turret, timber porch and brick stack are

motifs used elsewhere by J M Robertson, whose house

this was.
