1847. 2-storey, 3-bay former manse with 2-storey
addition, 1897 to N to form 4-bay elevation. Random whinstone
rubble with cream ashlar dressings, long and short quoins,
raised margins, cornice and blocking course.
E (FRONT) ELEVATION: door with strip fanlight and consoled
cornice. Windows to flanking bays at ground; window to
each bay at 1st floor. Wing at right advanced with
canted window at ground and 1st floor.
Single window at ground floor to side elevations.
2-storey service block of 1890 projecting at rear with
irregular openings.
Plate glass sash and case windows.
Grey slates to piended roof, ashlar coped wallhead and
ridge stacks.
Built as Free Church Manse for Rev John Thomson. Extended at
rear and to N by Rev R Rodger.
Built on the site of Linton Distillery.
