Description

Earlier 18th century. Rectangular-plan, 2-stage, crowstepped gabled dovecot located to SE of main front of Malleny House. Rubble with partial harling; ashlar margins and dressings; stugged quoins; rat course; eaves course continues as string course at gables. Piended dormer of 9 flight-holes on NE gable; low door at ground of SW elevation. 915 nesting boxes.

Grey slate roof; crowstepped gables; beak skewputts.

Statement of Interest

The dovecot was built by the Scotts of Malleny. Malleny House and the Scott Memorial vault to the NE are listed separately.
