Description

Circa 1868. Single storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan lodge with lower recessed bay to outer left. Stugged, squared and snecked honey-coloured sandstone. Base course. Shouldered-arch timber window windows. Overhanging bracketted eaves.

E ELEVATION: 4-panelled door at centre, 3-pane fanlight; bipartite window to outer right, tripartite window to left. Bipartite window to outer left bay.

5-pane, lying-pane glazing. Sandstone corniced ridge stacks. Grey slate roof.

BOUNDARY WALL: rubble wall with semi-circular coping.

Statement of Interest

The lodge was built as the lodge to Kirklands Lodge, now the Trefoil centre and is shown on the 1895 OS map. The lodge is particularly well-detailed. Trefoil Centre is listed separately.
