Description

Early 19th century with later 19th century additions. 2 storey, 3 bay near symmetrical classical house with 2 storey wings adjoining to N and S. Cream sandstone ashlar; coursed rubble to sides and rear. Base course; string course; cill course and cornice to ground floor windows in canted bays; cill course to 1st floor windows; dentilled cornice; blocking course.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: engaged Doric columns to recessed, segmental arched doorway; modern panelled door; plate glass fanlight; pedimented hoodmould; single window to 1st floor above. Full height, 3 light canted windows in bays to outer left and right. Single and 2 storey wing adjoining to S; 2 storey wing to N; panelled modern doors; single windows to 1st floor above.

Plate glass, timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof (flat roofs to wings); rendered and coped wallhead stacks; moulded cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low coursed and coped wall to street; replacement railings; low mutual wall to N; high rubble wall to S.
