Description

Circa 1820. Single storey 3-bay piend-roofed classical cottage with later wing to S. Coursed sandstone rubble with rusticated ashlar quoins and architraved windows and door to front, random rubble to sides and rear. Eaves cornice and blocking course, raised at centre.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: timber panelled door with decorative umbrella fanlight over in architraved surround at centre. Architraved windows in flanking bays. Later bay to right: random rubble construction, window in ashlar surround, cornice.

12-pane lying-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slates. Coped rubble wallhead stacks (?raised) with circular cans.

BOUNDARY WALL: high coursed rubble boundary wall with arched coping.

Statement of Interest

Part of the original feuing of the lands of Trinity Mains farm by the lawyer Alexander Scott. The intended feuing is shown on Kirkwood's 1817 map.

Statutory address revised to correct spelling mistake in 2022. Previously listed as '30 YORK ROAD. WOODBINE COTAGE, WITH BOUNDARY WALL'.
