Circa 1860, style of David Cousin. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan villa with single storey mansard roofed service wing attached to W; subdivided. Squared and snecked rubble sides and rear; stugged coursed ashlar to N elevation. Base course; eaves cornice; rusticated quoins; raised window surrounds; bracketted cills; ground floor windows corniced.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central pilastered doorpiece with scrolled consoles to cornice; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; single window above and in remaining bays. Service wing adjoining to outer right; 2 single windows at ground floor; cornice to deep pierced stone balustrade; single corniced and block-pedimented dormer window; mansard roof.
E ELEVATION: forestair to 1st floor secondary entrance intercepting former stairwindow, with remainder as round-arched fanlight; single window flanking to left.
6-pain sash and case windows (surrounds painted at ground floor). Grey slate piended roof; lead flashing; 4 shouldered wallhead stacks with deep cornices; tall moulded octagonal cans; moulded eaves guttering.
INTERIORS: not seen 1990.
Low saddleback wall with replacement railings to street; high coped wall with pedestrian gateways adjoining house to E.
