Description

Circa 1860. 2-storey, irregular-plan villa with service wing to rear and substantial additions in sympathetic style to W. Squared and snecked sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Overhanging eaves; chamfered reveals; plain timber bargeboards and finials.

S WHITEHOUSE TERRACE elevation: 3-bay, made 5-bay by extension to W. 2-storey canted windows with zinc roofs in gabled 1st and 3rd bays; centre light at ground in 3rd bay reformed as doorway; 2-leaf glazed door with fanlight. Single windows to both floors in remaining bays; doorway in 4th bay reformed as window.

E ELEVATION: M-gabled; irregularly disposed fenestration. 12-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate gabled roof; tall shouldered and corniced gablehead stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen 1991.

GATEPIERS and BOUNDARY WALLS: stugged ashalr gatepiers with pyramidal caps; quadrant walls; coped coursed sandstone boundary and mutual walls.
