Description

Originally offices, 1725, rebuilt probably H-plan, John Baxter 1781-5, incorporated in new house James Matthews (Mackenzie & Matthews) 1851. Main part of his house demolished 1927, and remains of offices converted to mansion.

2-storey, low 1st, eaves and bell cast to roof irregular H-plan crowstepped gables 1851 or modern. Baxter front door inscribed GEORGE EARL OF ABERDEEN 1785, architraved, segmental pediment broken by armorial panel brought from old castle; WTF dormerhead and 1851 coat of arms inserted into walls.
