Eric A Sutherland, 1907. 7-storey and attic, Free Style
office block. Red sandstone ashlar, channelled at ground
and with base course; brick sides and rear. 5-bay, with
outer bays slightly advanced.
Arcaded keystoned openings at ground floor with cavetto
reveals in outer bays; internal steps to doorway at
centre; recessed windows with panels below in remaining
bays, and secondary doorway in outer left bay. Band
course above ground floor; stone mullioned and transomed
bipartites at 1st floor, those to centre 3 bays set in
slightly raised panels and with deep cornice above.
Corbelled ashlar balconies to outer bays at 2nd floor.
Centre bays at 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors set in arched
recesses, with jettied balcony above; single windows in
outer bays at these floors with arched hoodmoulds to 4th
floor windows. Canted windows with parapets to centre
bays at 5th floor. Moulded cornice. Leaded cone-roofed
polygonal pavilions to outer bays with slated aprons and
round arched windows. Modern flat-roofed dormer
windows.
