Description

Late 19th century tall 3-storey mansion, now a hospital block; Scots 17th century revival detailing including crow-stepped gables, conical-roofed circular turrets, corbel table at upper levels, pedimented dormer heads breaking through eaves; shallow porch at E end of N wall. Tall square tower at SW with octagonal cap-house; extravagent sculptured detail. Red ashlar, Westmoreland slate roofs. Lower ranges at W; terraces and retaining walls to E.
