Bronze plaque to south side of plinth with inscription 'John Logie Baird, Native of This Town, Inventor of Television, 1888-1946, They need no candle'.
Bronze plaque to west side of plinth inscribed 'Erected by his friend J. Arnold Fleming' and bronze plaque to east side of plinth inscribed 'Unveiled by his sister and his son Malcolm'.
The bust was unveiled in 1961 by Miss Annie Baird and it originally stood in Hermitage Park.
