Description

James Pearson Alison, 1897. 2-storey 2-bay house in stepped terrace; coursed bull-faced cream sandstone with tabbed ashlar margins; chamfered arrises. To left, 2-leaf panelled door with letterbox fanlight with moulded and lugged architrave, pulvinated frieze and cornice; single window above; to right, bipartite windows to each floor. Rubble rear elevation; single windows.

Timber plate glass sash and case windows (4-pane to rear). Stugged ashlar faced and coped stack; purple slates.

Statement of Interest

Sensitive in-fill building at N end of line of listed houses (see separate listings for 73 to 77 Castlegate).
