Description

Late 19th century. 2-storey 3-bay cream sand-stone rubble house attached to primary school on lower ground to SE. Stugged ashlar dressings. Base course; band course above ground floor. S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: symmetrical; steps to panelled door at centre with rectangular fanlight; window above under eaves; bipartite windows to each floor of flanking bays; gabled dormerheads.

W (FRIARSGATE) ELEVATION: 3 irregular bays; to left, bipartite window at ground with single window and gabled dormerhead above; gable to right with windows to both floors of left bay, right bay blank; gablehead stack. To outer left single storey flat-roofed porch with panelled door and letterbox fanlight.

N ELEVATION: advanced gable to right with porch attached at ground; gablehead stack; windows to yard at ground.

E ELEVATION: advanced gable to left, gablehead stack. Largely masked by school attached at ground.

Timber sash and case windows; plate glass to S, otherwise 4-pane. Grey slates; moulded bargeboards to gables. Ashlar coped stacks with original octagonal cans. Cast-iron downpipes.

BOUNDARY WALL: rubble wall with ashlar saddlebank coping and wrought-iron railings.
