Description

Early 19th century; later alterations. 3-storey and attic shop and tenements. Coursed rubble; stugged ashlar dressings; painted shop front.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: remodelled shop front at ground floor; central 2-leaf door with scrolled pediment; flanking shop windows; fascia continuous with 10 Edinburgh Road. 4-window front to upper floors; blocked windows in right bay at 1st and 2nd floors; window in 2nd bay from right square in proportion. Dormer windows in outer bays.

E ELEVATION: adjoining building.

S ELEVATION: not seen 2000.

W ELEVATION: adjoining building.

Variety of glazing patterns. Slate roof; straight skews; no stacks.

Statement of Interest

The remodelling of the shop was contemporary with the alterations at 10 Edinburgh.
