Description

Early 19th century. Single storey, 3-bay cottage with forestair closing terraced line. Granite blocks with whinstone pinning to High Street, harled side and rear. Wrought-iron railings to forestair. Door at centre with letterbox fanlight; windows flanking with sash and case plate glass windows. Regrettable alterations and additions at rear. Modern roofing material. End stack to right.

Statement of Interest

Steeply rising ground to right of No 32, which forms a group with Nos 28 and 30, closing High Street line and each with forestair. McIlwraith, writing in 1877, commented on the forestair feature of some of the houses.
