Early 19th century with later alterations and additions. Single storey rectangular-planned (now L-planned) Tudor lodge house adjoining gatepiers and Tudor-arched gateway, spanning road . Whinstone droved ashlar dressings; later additions harled; whinstone wall flanking ashlar gatepiers with ashlar roll-topped moulding. Battered base course.
SE ELEVATION: 4-bay. Square-planned gatepiers with Gothick cusped panels and coping with Tudor chamfered arch with roll-topped coping, to inner left. Whinstone wall with ashlar roll-topped coping to outer left. Whinstone coped wall to inner right with chamfered ashlar surround to boarded studded door (as pedestrians? entrance). Whinstone with ashlar dressings gabled wall of lodge to outer right with tripartite window at ground with tabbed surround and square plaque in gablehead. Kneelers to gable. Ashlar wallhead stack to outer left of bay.
SW ELEVATION: 3-bay with screen wall to outer left. Gabled ashlar porch to centre with Tudor-arched entrance with shield above apex. 5 steps to boarded studded door with shield above lintel. Bipartite windows to flanking bays. Rubble and whinstone screen wall with ashlar roll-topped coping; ashlar surrounded Tudor-arched boarded and studded door. Modern addition set back behind screen wall with modern door to left and modern window to right.
NE ELEVATION: half-piended modern addition to centre. Flat-roofed addition to re-entrant angle.
4-lying-pane timber sash and case windows to each section of bipartite and tripartite windows. Purple slate roof; slated later additions. Brick gablehead stack to NW.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1995.
