Description

Later 19th century with later alterations. Single storey 3-bay house. Squared and snecked sandstone with stugged ashlar dressings; sandstone rubble to S elevation. Flush quoins to S elevation and to N elevation.

N (SOUTH STREET) ELEVATION: modern panelled door with letterbox fanlight above to centre; window to each flanking bay.

S ELEVATION: asymmetrical arrangement; window to left of centre and modern window at eaves to right.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Slate roof with brick stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1995.

Statement of Interest

The house is part of a group of buildings comprising Woodville and Rose Cottage, which are linked historically. The land to the S of Iona Cottage is still part of the Woodville property.
