Mid 19th century. Broad, rusticated sandstone gatepier on ashlar base, blind narrow arch recess at centre, ashlar cornice, graded ashlar cap. Pedestrian gatepier to right, stepped parapet, plaque at centre inscribed ?Baron Cliff?; rusticated coping, chamfered arrises to gate (modern gate).
The boundary wall and gatepiers form the boundary of the Baron Cliff estate along Rosneath Road. Baron Cliff house was demolished in the 1980s following fire damage and was replaced by a modern house. The former lodge to Baron Cliff on South Ailey Road is listed separately.
