Description

????? squat tapering ashlar column with square ashlar base on concrete plinth, supporting corniced square cap and stepped base to inter-war cast-iron open-work lamp standard. Glazed timber door to recess in NE side containing barometer.

Statement of Interest

A photograph by George Washington Wilson shows the market cross surmounted by a stone urn. A photograph of circa 1975 shows a tall cylindrical lamp mounted on the standard.
