Description

Mid 19th century. Single storey and attic, three-bay, rectangular-plan cottage. Rubble construction with harl pointing.

The main (east) elevation is symmetrical with a central door flanked by eight-pane windows timber sash and case windows. There are two gabled dormers with four-pane timber sash frames.

The roof is graded grey slate and there are corniced chimney stacks at the apex of each gable.

In front (east) of the house is a low rubble wall with cast iron railings and a gate.

Statement of Interest

The cottage is shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Map and is named Hawthorn Cottage. It is situated on the old Luss Road opposite the Sports Grounds.

Statutory address and listed building record revised in 2017. Previously listed as 'Halfton Cottage'.
