Description

1903. Free Renaissance, 3-storey and raised basement, 5-bay tenement built on ground falling to E. Red sandstone, squared and snecked with ashlar, rubble to E elevation. Cill band at 1st and 2nd, band course at 3rd.

S (SPITTAL STREET) ELEVATION: entrance to outer right to basement with 3 bipartite basement windows/openings in bays to left. 8 bays at ground with entrance to left of centre flanked by windows, fullheight canted 3-light corner bay to outer left, large round-arched keystoned windows in 4 bays to right. Regular fenestration above. Wallplane to centre and right of centre at 3rd floor corbelled out with tooled segmental-arched panel below at centre. Above, wall-head scalloped with flanking dies, ogee moulded wall head to canted bay.

E ELEVATION: single storey building adjoining.

Timber sash and case at ground and in 2 bays to left at 1st, remaining UPVC, tall wall head stacks to left and right of centre with 3 terracotta cans each, wall head stack to E elevation with 6 cans.
