Description

18th century, probably incorporating earlier fabric (dated 1677). Single storey, 3-bay cottage. Narrow bands of rubble.

SW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Boarded timber door with dated lintel to centre and windows in flanking bays; paired modern rooflight to right and single rooflight to left.

NE ELEVATION: 2 small windows grouped to centre.

SE ELEVATION: full width modern lean-to conservatory.

NW ELEVATION: window to outer left and further tiny opening to left in gablehead.

4- and 12-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stack to SE, brick to NW, both with cans. Plain bargeboarding.

BOUNDARY WALL: coped, narrow-banded rubble boundary walls adjoining to N and S.

Statement of Interest

At the time of the OSA, 'Arnefont' was a hamlet of '80 souls'. Group with NW, SW and SE cottages.
