Note the initials and date on the gate commemorating Colonel Frederic Walter Kerr D.S.O, son of Lord and Lady Frederic Kerr, who was killed in action with the Gordon Highlanders near Ypres on 31st October, 1914. He is buried in the military cemetery at Ypres.
