Description

Dated 1764. 2-storey, 3-bay L-plan house. Cream harl. Painted ashlar margins to windows and door.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: central door, 1764 carved in lintel; flanking single windows. 3 1st floor windows centred above, at eaves. External shutter hinge pins remain to ground floor window to right.

W ELEVATION: attached to Caldervale.

N ELEVATION: partially seen, 2001. Rear wing to right. Later 20th century flat-roofed room in inner angle. Window to far left.

E ELEVATION: 1st floor window to left.

12-pane timber sash and case windows with horns. 2-leaf timber boarded door. Pitched slate roofs. Coped gable apex stack; W stack shared with Caldervale. Coped gable apex stack to rear wing.

INTERIOR: modernised interior.

Statement of Interest

Formerly listed as Clifton. The entrance door is a typical Culross type with one leaf ? the width of the other.
