Description

Mid to later 19th century. Single storey, 7-bay former hall, subdivided to form two cottages. Whinstone rubble with slaister mortar, red sandstone margins and dressings. Projecting eaves with exposed rafters.

The principal (west) elevation has an advanced gable at the centre with a bipartite window and a sandstone plaque above. There is a chevron boarded door on the right return with a letterbox fanlight. There are 3 near-symmetrical bays to the right and the left, both with a boarded door, letterbox fanlight and flanking windows.

The rear (east) elevation also has an advanced gable at the centre with sandstone plaque and a later French door.

4-pane timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slate roof with lead flashings. There are small cast-iron rooflights and red sandstone paired octagonal ridge stacks.

Statement of Interest

The building is not shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map, surveyed in 1860. It is shown on the 2nd Edition, revised in 1896. This property was formerly the North Hall. It is listed for its contextual interest with the picturesque cottages in the village.

Statutory address revised in 2016. Previously listed as 'Luss Village, Tighnafois'.
