History

Date stone inscribed 1774 in centre on first floor, interior details confirm this as a likely date.

Exterior

Three-storey, four window street front of small blocks of dressed stone laid in regular courses. Slate roof with flanking stacks, right hand one of stone. Projecting eaves. Square-headed windows with voussoirs; four-pane sash windows. Plain wood square-headed doorcase with pilasters, entablature and pediment; 6-panelled door, glazed except for lowest panels. Left gable end has tall buttresses, and top floor casement window towards rear.

Interior

Some cornicing, fielded panelled doors, staircase etc.

Reasons for Listing

House retaining its C18 character with surviving interiors, and Group Value with adjacent listed buildings in The Watton.
