A Grade II Listed Building in Brecon, Powys

Canal & Railway Bridge at Watton Wharf, Brecon

Uploader's Comments

The Hay Railway was a horse-drawn tramroad from Eardisley in Herefordshire, opened in 1816. It terminated here at Watton Wharf where a plateway was opened later that same year to run along The Watton up to Bold’s Wharf at the canal terminus closer to the town centre. The plateway was later rerouted along the towpath to the Canal Company’s wharf but was out of use by 1862.
