History

Erected in l907 and originally sited in front of the Vane Almshouses, Heol Penrallt. Commemorates Mary Cornelia, Fifth Marchionness of Londonderry l828-l906.

Exterior

Unsigned bronze bust on polished granite tapered pedestal; square base on stone platform. The bust has brocaded dress and draped shawl; inscription below. The pedestal has chamfered edges and bronze garlands below cornice; coat of arms to front. The sides of the pedestal are inscribed with a tribute to the Marchionness.
