History

Built 1767, extension added 1772, stone tiles and old windows removed in 1957. This building replaced an old farm which originally housed the Charity School from its inception in 1725. The classes were then held in this house from 1767 until the present school was erected in 1834.

Exterior

Two-storey three window, rendered stone rubble, double pile with separate hipped slate roofs. One-and-a-half storey extension to left with gabled roof and eaves dormer, rendered stone and slate. Further rubble lean-to to rear of this. Projecting stone stack with brick upper to left gable, flush brick stack to right. Three windows, modern casements, central part-glazed six-panel door, enclosed plank built glazed porch with gable and finial.
