Two storeys with basement, T-plan (adjoining two-storey former service wing now separate dwelling). Rendered rubble with raised bands framing the walls in large panels, basement section has exposed ashlar blocks. Hipped slate roof, projecting coved eaves, drop-crested eaves boards. Three tall brick, paired-flue stacks. Front doorway set in corner, approached via steps, six-panel door, raised and fielded, fanlight and plain arched surround. All windows deep-set with stone cills, twelve-pane sashes, except front left which has margin glazing and stained glass in corner sections.
Six-panel doors, elaborate architraving around doors and principal windows, ceiling roses, cornice friezes of vine scroll and acanthus, panelled shutters. Stair arch with foliated impost brackets. Extensive basement with massive slate floor slabs, arched alcoves and slate shelving.
