History

House formerly right wing of town house of the Laugharne family where General Sir Thomas Picton was born in 1768. House became the Dragon Hotel and is shown in a drawing of c. 1870 as having matching wings, the left wing demolished for the Albany schoolroom of 1908. The drawing shows three 12-pane sashes to the ground floor of this house.

Exterior

House, painted stucco with slate roof and brick right end stack. Two storeys and attic, three bays. Hipped large central 9-pane dormer, three first floor 9-pane sashes and ground floor 12-pane sash to right and large 9-pane shop window to left with fixed panes. Square-headed doorway with recessed C20 door with C20 radiating bar fanlight in rectangular overlight.
