History

Early to mid C19 terraced house, altered. Building shown on this site on 1844 tithe map.

Exterior

Terraced house, whitewashed roughcast cladding, with slate roof, slightly higher at ridge and eaves than No 19 Kensington Street. Small brick end stacks. Two-storey 3-window range, upper floor with 3-12-pane sash windows, the left window closer to the centre than the right window. Ground floor has similar centre and right 12-pane sashes, with C20 half-glazed door between the 2, all inserted since 1978, and C20 broad opening with 2 C20 doors to left. Plain stucco surrounds and plain stucco plinth.
Ground floor much altered since 1978 when there was an early C20 shop front to centre and right and wide doorway with ledged doors to through passage to left.

Reasons for Listing

Retained on list, despite alterations, for group value with No 3 and No 19 Kensington Street.
