History

EIIR, K6 type. Square red kiosk of cast-iron construction to the standard design of Giles Gilbert Scott, architect, of London. Design introduced to the GPO in 1936. This example manufactured by W McFarlane & Co Ltd, Saracen Foundry, Glasgow, and dates from late 1950s.

Exterior

Domed roof with 4 lunettes containing Queen Elizabeth II crowns; ventilation slits. Wooden door styles. Raised surrounds with marginal bars to horizontal glazing; blank rear, moulded plinth.
