History

Early C19 iron gate and monolith piers to Plas Cefn Gwyn, built c1818 for W C Gilbertson.

Exterior

Wrought iron single gate across drive, with dog-bars, double mid-rail, upper part with diagonally crossed strengthening bars and flat top rail with scrolled spearheads. Mid rail has band of circles, and scrolled spearheads above. Scrolled tops to outer uprights. Gateposts are stone monoliths with rounded tops.

Reasons for Listing

A good example of Georgian blacksmiths' work. Group value with Plas Cefn Gwyn.
