History

Part of the public water supply system provided for different parts of the Llanover estate by Lady Llanover, probably in the mid to late C19.

Exterior

Roadside niche built in random rock faced conglomerate rubble with some stores neatly squared. The niche contains a large rough stone trough and a water spout with, above it, an inscribed panel. The niche coping is ramped up with roughly cut voussoir stones in the centre while lower wing walls project forward.

Reasons for Listing

Included for its special interest as part of a C19 village water supply provided by a philanthropic estate.
