History

An C18 house, part of a longer range with number 15.

Exterior

A 2-storey single-fronted house of whitened pebble-dashed front, black-painted smooth-rendered surrounds, steep slate roof and shared brick stack. Openings have pedimented surrounds in the lower storey. The entrance is on the R has a boarded door under a cambered head. Windows are small-pane late C20 replacements in earlier openings.
In the R gable end, on the corner with Crown Lane, is a replaced small-pane window in the lower storey, and a 2-light 1st-floor window.

Not inspected.

Reasons for Listing

Listed, notwithstanding window replacement, as one of a pair of rare-surviving pre-C19 houses near the town centre, and for group value within the historical townscape.
