and Gable Cottage)

GV II

Pair of estate cottages, early C19, squared rubble stone with half-
hipped plain tile roof, replacing thatch, and centre stack. One
and a half storeys, 3-window range with 3 first floor arched
windows breaking eaves under gables with elaborate mid C19
bargeboards, 2 ground floor casement pairs with flat stone heads
and raised keystones, and single centre doorway to 2 inner doors.
Doorway has moulded lintel and keystone, reused heavily carved
Jacobean frieze and stone hood on brackets. Windows have iron
casements with small-paned leaded lights. Upper windows have Y-
tracery heads with intersecting leading and acorn motif in top
spandrel. Centre window is blind.
