Town house, formerly part of terrace. c.1755-56. Darkened grey brick, slate roof.
Well proportioned, pedimented ashlar Palladian front. 3 storeys and attic storey in
full width pediment, basement. 3 windows wide. Doorway to right with panelled door
and loop patterned fanlight in wooden doorcase of engaged Ionic columns supporting
entablature. Recessed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged red brick arches.
Portland stone plat band and sill band to 1st floor, as pseudo-parapet, and 2nd
floor as base of full width pediment containing oval attic window in red brick
gauged dressing. Wrought iron balconettes to 1st floor. Wrought iron, urn finialed
area railings. Interior has fine stone staircase with wrought iron balustrade
incorporating S pattern motif; fine statutory marble chimneypiece to 1st floor front
room; good plasterwork and cornices etc.
