Monument to Samuel Davenport Pochin. The Pochins were Lords of the Manor in Leicestershire and Rutland. This Pochin may well have commisioned the church rebuilding at age 50. He d. 1904 aet 78 and wife Helen Elizabeth nee Greaves (another powerful family) d. 1931 aet 84, a 20 year age difference between them. Effigy of The Good Shepherd, with lambs, a Victorian and Edwardian paternal sentiment. Left hand with crook missing, also the lamb on his lap. Verse –He that believeth hath Eternal Life. John 6.47-.
