The Latin tanslates as: Here lies Elisabeth Bardsey, daughter of Edmund Bardsey, Doctor of Theology, and his wife Sarah, which Elisabeth died 6th November in the ninth year of her age, in the Year of our Lord 1624. The Arms are: Argent two bars gules on a canton a maunch of the first, for Bardsey. According to Burkes General Armory, the male line of Bardsey of Bardsey in Lancashire died out in the time of Charles I. (Photo Jul 2013).
