GV II

House, now 4 houses. C17 left hand part; sub-divided and
extended by a pair of small houses in C18; ground floor cased in
red brick in C19: rear extensions, small porch on W end and new
windows to No 79 in C20. Timber frame weatherboarded with steep
old red tile roof. Ground floor of red brick. Of 2 builds. Nos
76 and 77 were a single 2-storeys and cellar-house with central
chimney, sometime The Fox PH. To the N of this, and with the
same eaves and ridge height a handed pair of two and a half
storeys houses was built with lower ground floor and storey
heights. The S front has 4-windows, one to each house on each
floor. 2 gabled dormer windows to N part and higher set windows
in S part. 2-light flush casement windows. Door and ground
floor windows recessed under segmental arches. 2 central
chimneys. Important in views along the ridge road. Included for
group value.
