KINGSTON-UPON-THAMES
COOMBE LANE WEST
(north side)
Coombe Warren Lodge, with garden walls to Coombe Lane West and Coombe Hill Road

G.V.
II

Probably 1870's Lodge to the now demolished Coombe Warren House (built by George
Devey in 1869). Lodge probably also designed by Devey. Picturesque composition in
red brick with stone window dressings. Tiled roof on brick corbel table, Dutch
gables. 4 tall grouped diagonal stacks. Ground floor oriel with stone base forms
part of the garden wall to Coombe Lane West, extending westwards from the Lodge. Of
red brick with blue diapering on squared rubble stonebase terminating with a corbel
table. To Coombe Hill Road the wall is similar but without the stone base. Later
extension to north of lodges of little interest. In same style but lacking the
Dutch gables.
