SD 81 SE ROCHDALE FALINGE PARK

6/62 Gateway to Falinge Park on corner of Falinge Road and Sheriff Street. II

Park gates and abutting walls. c.1900. Sandstone and cast iron. Central double vehicular gates with pedestrian gates on either side and curved walls terminating in square piers. The piers, 6 in total, have projecting bases, recessed panels, floral festoons, modillion cornices and are surmounted by garland-enriched finials. The gates have enriched scrollwork and 2 central heraldic cartouches.
