House. C18 or early C19 with later C19 and early C20 additions. Colourwashed and
rendered, probably cob and stone, early C20 brick rear wing; main block with
ornamental tiled roof, gabled at ends, with deep verges, rear wing with slate roof;
end stacks with brick shafts, 3 with good chimneypots.
Plan: The main block is 2 rooms wide, single depth, -extended to the rear by a one
room plan wing, probably late C19, the wing further extended in about 1906
(information from occupier).
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 bay front with a pretty gabled porch on posts
with a tiled roof in the centre with a C19 panelled front door ; C18 or C19 small
pane timber casement windows. The right return of the main block has an early C20
canted bay. The rear brick wing has 3/1 pane timber sashes.
Interior: Plain.
Group value with thatched houses at the Powderham entrance to Powderham Castle.
