3/166 Wellington Court

GV II

House. Probably mid-C18, reputedly built on site of fire-damaged
predecessor. Pink coloured brick on coursed sandstone plinth, blue
bricks in segmental brick arches to ground floor windows. Hipped slate
roof, truncated brick stack to centre left. Rectangular plan, five by
four bays with entrance front facing roughly east. Two storeys.
East elevation: 2:3 bays, with two-bay projection to left hand side;
3-course brick plat band, contrasting alternating blue brickwork to
right and left hand ground floor window heads, glazing bar sashes,
blind upper centre window to right hand side. C17 console brackets
to right with acanthus motif supporting flat hood over 8-panelled C18
door; top two panels glazed, fielded panels. The console brackets are
very similar to those to the entrance door of Bridge Farmhouse (qv).
