Abbey Church of St Alban

A Grade I Listed Building in St Albans, Hertfordshire

Crucifixion wall painting

Uploader's Comments

First of 12 crucifixion paintings. Cross painted in malachite, a costly pigment. The rolling ground line represents Golgotha. There is no nail fixing Christ's left hand, but loose nail lies on ground between John's feet.
