Terrace of 15 houses, now houses and flats. c1820-50, in 2
stages of build, with later additions and alterations. Stucco
over ashlar (to those to right, Nos 70-90) otherwise over
brick, with slate roof where original, stuccoed brick
party-wall stacks and iron balcony.
EXTERIOR: to left: 3 storeys, 1+10 first-floor windows,
otherwise 2 storeys, 2 windows per house. The two right-hand
houses (88 and 90) are taller. To right part (Nos 70-90) a
first-floor band. 8/8, 6/6 and 2/2 horizontal-pane sashes
where original; some 2/2 sashes. No.64 has 8-pane French
windows to first floor. All windows in plain reveals and with
sills. Entrances to right: mainly 4-panel doors where
original, with overlights, No.88 has fanlight and tooled
surround. Similar entrance to left house to left return. Left
return has 3 first-floor windows. Crowning band, frieze and
cornice where original; coped parapet, ramped to No.88.
INTERIOR: noted as retaining some original joinery and
plasterwork.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: No.64 has ornate continuous first-floor
balcony.
A good surviving example of an artisan terrace.
